Actions in Progress : Green Business Parks

Coconino County needs business parks that specialize in the manufacture/distribution of green products. Park design would feature PV, water catchment and passive solar design for leaseholder use.

Action steps include:

  • Work with city and county community development departments to determine location, infrastructure, and zoning requirements for green business park development.
  • Work with GFEC to identify and solicit developers interested in green business park development.
  • Expand the Coconino County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Board to make it a more effective tool for the development of green business parks.
  • Explore with the Bond Council at the Arizona Department of Commerce the feasibility of using the IDA to attract business consortiums for green business park development. If feasible, partner with the IDA to attact business consortiums to the Green Zone.
  • Work with the Board of Supervisors and Community Development to create a "Green Zone" renewable energy tax district.
