Actions in Progress : Education

SEDI supports Coconino County Sustainable Building Program (CCSBP) public education initiatives. We will work with CCSBP to:

• Co-sponsor the Sustainable Living Lecture Series with other community partners.
• Develop a CC&R (covenants, conditions, and restrictions) template that supports renewable energy.
• Prepare a series of articles for local media on sustainability with an emphasis on EE&R.

SEDI supports educational programs at Northern Arizona University (NAU), Coconino Community College (CCC), and the Flagstaff Unified School District (FUSD) that provide EE&R workforce training and product development. Specifically, we will:

• Support and help to promote alternative energy certification and Sustainable Building degree programs at CCC.
• Help to coordinate green building and energy efficiency education and workforce development programs at CCC, FUSD, and NAU.
• Support the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce and its Character Counts program in the Flagstaff area schools.
• Work with FUSD to develop a technical training effort focused on small renewable energy installation and repair.
