Actions in Progress : Advocacy

Government must establish a regulatory environment that encourages the implementation of alternative energy sources that use clean technologies, supports the implementation of efficiency and conservation programs, and encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. The action steps to accomplish this include:

  • Research policy barriers and promote incentives to installing small-scale EE&R.
  • Support state and federal incentives for both large and small scale renewable energy.
  • Encourage Centralized Energy Resources regulatory actions by developing a Coconino County Wind Ordinance and addressing transmission access issues.
  • Research and create a Renewable Energy Special District.
